The Collection of Amphibians and Reptiles from INPA (INPA-H) houses testimonial material from surveys and herpetofauna studies carried out in several regions across the Amazon Basin. Currently, the collection upholds more than 44,000 specimens of amphibians and reptiles, most of which are wet preserved, but also houses dry preserved material such as chelonian carapaces and alligator skins ans skulls. In addition, INPA-H is home to 690 type-specimens, including holotypes and paratypes of at least 43 amphibian and 9 reptile species.
